As I grow 'older' I recognize the value of friendships and connecting with family and friends. With our busy lives I don't always reach out and share. I have so many (more than I deserve) valued friendships. Many of my friends know each other and many of my family know my friends. So, I came up with the idea of bringing you all together to have a place where each can share and blog your thoughts whenever you feel like it. As I understand the set-up of a blog, others can join too - making more friends.
Our Christmas was awesome our 3 children and families were here as well as Gary's 94 year old mother. My grown 'boys' did the cooking for our brunch. It was fun to take pictures and enjoy the playful banter knowing that this is an occasion to build memories. At one point one of the boys said - hey 'how come Gary's getting out of this.' I replied - 'you don't want Gary cooking' he does most everything else - he is gifted with multiple talents - but cooking is not one of them. Gary spoke up and said - 'I'll do the clean up,' and he did! The girls all helped with clean up and they also helped with the evening meal.
Our younger grandchildren tried to put on a Christmas Pagent for us (so funny as the oldest of the group is only 8). It was a riot! I finally asked Mekenzie (8) Renee & David's Daughter (one of the twins) if she would tell the Christmas Story. I was amazed at her vocabulary and her accuracy as she shared the Christmas Story with everyone.
My favorite memory was of our grandson Brandon (2 years old) using a saw, from one of his new presents (a tool box), to practice sawing on Uncle Dan. Daniel, using tons of exaggerated emotions, pretended to be frantic as he was attacked by the saw. Brandon started belly laughing and was so animated and covered with unforgettable smiles that his joy spread to everyone in the room, young and old, so that we all joined in a heart happy burst of belly laughter.
I trust you all had a blessed Christmas and have built some memories of your own. Please feel free to blog and keep up with us and each other! Love, Susie
